The best place for something like this would be a Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle. It has black and white photos as well as diagrams of these.

My 2008 Pontiac G6 is showing a emission evaporative large leak. How bad is that?

You most likely need a new evaporative purge valve.
Besides the engine light, another symptom is hard starting after filling with fuel, because the filling makes lots of strong fuel vapor in the tank and that gets sucked into the manifold, causing an overly rich mixture. Also, if you ignore this problem for a while, your catalytic converters will be ruined, which is a very expensive problem, that I discovered the hard way.
The valve is located at the firewall side of the engine behind the fuel injection. It has 2 hoses and a plug. If you disconnect the hose which goes to the fuel tank (the passenger side one) and start the car, and put your finger on the hose nipple, you should feel no vacuum. If you do, the valve is bad. I bought mine online for about $32, free shipping. I think from Amazon. They wanted $60-$68 at the parts stores, and they were out of stock. The vacuum hoses are kind of hard to remove. There is a tang you have to work with.

This is the part I ordered:

Make sure you put it on the right way round. I first had it backwards and the hoses are hard to get off again.

Need help, I have a 2001 Chevy cavalier 2.2 L..It hs been over heating, can't find the leak. Put water in it and it is bone dry real fast.We took out the thermostat and let the car idle for a while,...

Dear, check water leakage from the heater's radiator. For this, disconnect water circulation to the car cabin heater.
There are two water carrying hoses for the heater, one is to carry water to the heater and the other one is to carry it back to engine. One end of these two hoses is connected to the engine side and the other end of these hoses is connected to the heater side.
You have to disconnect any first hose's end from the heater's side and second hose's end from the engine's side.

Now connect the hose end, which you had disconnected from the heater

I had to rebuild the head. My problem now is that I can't identify all the hoses, or where they all belong. I need to know where the breather hose is suppose to go, a hose that is like the breather hose...

It's sometimes easier just to get a look at a similar car to locate hose connections.
Otherwise....laying the hose with one end hooked up will usually show the route/distance it took to connect the other end.
The dealer could give you a vac hose diagram for your car/options/engine.

Yes, most of the vacuum hoses are emission related, having a leak will cause what ever the hose goes to get more air than it needs, replace the hose. If the light doesn't go out, have a code scanner hooked up to the car to put it out. If there is an autozone auto parts store near you, go there, they will do it.
