Remove the trim bezel (plastic chrome) by unsnapping.at six points.
Pull up on shift knob (friction fit), then pry up on shifter bezel (snap fit).
Pry up the liner of the CD bin (again, snap fit...be careful)
Remove 6 screws, two forward, six in the bottom of the console bin.
Disconnect two wiring harnesses.
Set the parking brake (handle up as far as possible).
Reverse procedure to reinstall.
BE CAREFUL unsnapping the plastic parts. Inspection will reveal that these cars won't last much more than about 10 years...they're ALL PLASTIC!

Try Alldata online manual. OR - If your wanting to do this you probably can't shift out of Park? If your like me, a spring most likely come loose inside the shifter assembly. Pull up on the shinny PRND outer cover to remove, the rest of the covers unsnap (use small screwdriver), pull up on shifter knob (might need to wiggle a little), Look for the pink plastic thing on the left. It should have a spring that pulls back on it when you shift into reverse. If this is missing, unbolt the four nuts that hold the assembly to the floor, look for the old spring. If it's gone you can cut a new one to size and hook it back on. If yours is like mine, the small pink hook (****) is broke and you will need to drill a small hole in it to have something to clip the new spring to. By the way, I had to do all this with the assembly in the compartment as I was unable to remove it completly. Not enough room. I removed the coin tray in front of the shifter, ParkReverseNutralDrive thing, grey cover that surrounds the coin tray(just pull out and up (it snaps in), 4 mounting nuts, and the cable that attaches to the pink piece of plastic that Chrsler should have put a little more effort into designing. ARG! Good luck.

I recommend you get a Haynes Repair Manual on your vehicle for the directions on how to remove this properly.
