There is also a redesigned hook on the hatch that you can install easily from the dealership, two bolts on the hatch, remove the old and replace it w the new hook. the redesigned hook is slightly longer compensating for the rubber seal.

Mine too. I've noticed that the rubber seal has worn in that area due to friction. I think it must be a design error. The rubber sticks out too far. When I close my trunk, I always push down in the middle very firmly. That usually does the trick. <!-- from fixya rte -->
