SOURCE: ac compressor pulley bearings bad, and pulley makes noise.

buy yourself a remanufactured A/C compressor, as you need specialized tools to rebuild and old compressor as well as the seals.

SOURCE: ac compressor cuts on and off and no cool air blows out .

Too many reasons why but it probably needs to go in for repair. compressors will cycle on and off if the system is under or over filled. If there is a flow restriction, a collapsed high pressure hose, clog somewhere in the system(some vehicle owners put sealant or refrigerant with sealant in it) bad idea. Good luck.

It usually takes special pullers and tools to replace a compressor pulley. Let a pro do it.

Nope, it is the compressor. Why did you have the system recharged, because of a leak?

Which fuse ? A/C compressor fuse 10 amp. located in the under hood fuse box ? If this is the fuse the A/C compressor clutch is drawing to many amps . too much current flow . Need new compressor clutch . Have it checked , unless you know how to do current draw test .

Rattling coming from front of engine. Comes and goes. Seems like ac compressor or fan?

There is a known problem with the bearing on the AC compressor going out. I had to replace my compressor due to this. However it is possible to replace just the bearing, but takes some know how.

2000 jeep cherokee AC compressor clutch makes 2 rattling noises when I first start the engine for the day. It only started doing this after I recharged the AC with r134a because the AC wasn't blowing...

Does it make the noise even if the ac is switched off ? Its possible you have too much freon in the system, but the compressor should not be involved if it is turned off.

I have a 2001 Yukon XL 1500. I broke an AC belt. I had the belt replaced and the system recharged. It now makes a noise when you accelerate after start up. But that is the only time. AC blows cold...

Actually, you both could be right. It may be the bearing inside the compressor. The compressor does not make the cold air,it helps pressurize the system to get the freon from the evaporator to the condenser. The evaporator provides the cold air.If you can, open your hood and have someone start your car.Have them give it some gas and see if you can pinpoint the noise more accurately. If your compressor bearing causes it to seize up,you will probably only get a couple of miles before your belt snaps.Another slight possibility is the tensioner. It's pretty rare but stranger things have happened.I did have a compressor seizure years ago and snapped a belt though. If you can pinpoint the noise it would help to know.If you can't I would like a better description of the noise though.Good luck! Rattle noise coming from belt

this could be a bad pulley or alternator, you will need to remove the belt and spin the pulleys by hand to see which one is making noise, it could also be the ac compressor pulley, start there.

Ac compressor clutch is making a noise is the clutch is replaceable without replacing compressor

I had the same issue with my 2006. I thought the compressor clutch bearings were faulty. After further research, the rattling noise was actually coming from the serpentine belt tensioner. Easy repair!
Hope this helps.

What is easiest fix on a/c compressor or to bypass it and drive?

If it doesn't make any noise when AC is off, and your o.k. with that, just unplug the connector going to the compressor & it won't engage the clutch anymore.
