Why does my 1974 international 100 truck not shift from 2nd to 3rd

If it is an automatic trans, chances are the problem is inside the transmission. Probably the 3rd gear clutch pack.

I went to start by trailblazer, the key turned and all the interior and exterior lights worked fine, but the engine itself did absolutely nothing. not a click, or a crank. what could the problem be?

Could me one of many things , but because you said the engine didn't even make a click , I am going to suggest that you make sure the gear shifter is fully in park ( if automatic trans ) , it won't start if not in park. If manual trans , it won't start if it thinks the clutch is not depressed. Could also be an anti-theft device has kicked in. Good Luck

When i turn the key to start my 94 chevy truck, nothing happens. the battery is good, the lights do not dim when i turn the key. Could this be the ignition control module?

if you have a standard transmission, check the switch on the clutch pedal,if you have an automatic trans, check the purple wire on the solenoid while a friend tries to start it to see if the power is getting to the starter,if it is replace the starter,if not check the starter relay first, then the neutral starting switch.

BEST TRANSMISSION TO PUT IN A 1983 CHEVORLET C-10 SILVERADO. i'M LOOKING FOR GREAT PERFORMANCE, STRONG PULL, SHOULD BE ABLE TO TOW ANOTHER TRUCK?

If automatic, two good choices are a 700r4 or an older 400 unit. With any automatic a separate cooler is recommended if used for towing, and I'd use a good synthetic fluid as well. If stick, you have numerous choices of any trans used in 3/4 ton applications or better. All have really low first gears and are strong enough to do what you need.

I have a 1997 honda accord 2.2 automatic trans. the trans started slipping a couple times just for a couple seconds then it was fine, Last week on my way home I only had 1st and 2nd I made it home driving...

Check your tranny fluid I had a similer issue with a different truck and it was a clogged trans filter which caused it to pump the fluid up the dip stick I changed the fluid and didn't have an issue again until I blew the engine. So I would change that first regardless.

Truck starts and runs fine. Have 4 speed automatic. When going down road and you go into overdrive truck stutters and there is no power. 2002 f250 7.3

do u have any trans related trouble codes? has the fluid been changed? this sounds like torque converter clutch chatter.

04 dakota automatic transmission gets stuck in overdrive

Sounds like either the lock up converter or solenoid that operates it is "going away" Which trans is in it? I've had a similar problem (just the thump) In an aw4 trans in a Jeep, which I've isolated to those two components but it's too damn cold out to do anything about it yet!!! If the converter is staying locked, vehicle will be sluggish on starts from standstill when this is happening.
