Replace your plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and fuel filter and go from there; probably low fuel pressure. Get your fuel and air filter replaced, could be the fuel injector(s), fuel pump... I doubt it's your plugs if you get a tune up every 3k miles.

Make any scan to know if you have fault codes there and tell us news.

There are several possible causes to this, generally timing is the
issue. timing is affected by so many things though. to start off with if
this came on say overnight you may have a very tired timing belt or
chain and it has jumped a tooth. next there are electronics that could
be needing replaced specific to the distributor. vacuum leaks and a bad
vacuum module can most certainly create this.

When at an idle vacuum is
present and idles up the engine, running faster this is not needed and
vacuum has decreased. I doubt fuel is the issue if it runs well faster
unless its somehow flooding in which case it would lope slightly at
first and stronger the longer it idles till it stalls. motor mounts
cause a hard **** when you accelerate and let off and lots of body
vibration. bad rods almost allways knock and oil presure drops off
badly. your engine would be much louder.

If the issue is an engine shake
you could have a weak or bad spark plug wire, plug itself, distribtor
cap dirty fuel filter (common problem) a sticking lifter (cam follower)
weak valve spring, or even two spark plug wires crossed (it happens!)

Insufficient EGR Flow show fault code P0401 in the scanner... what does that mean: EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle
    emmissions
system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to
    control
Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system:
    the EGR
valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor EGR
    (DPFE).
These things work together to deliver the correct amount of
    recirculation based
on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD
    detected an
    insufficient amount of EGR.

    Symptoms:

    FB.init("dd7d9e9681341cde77587bc6a2029f6f");

    OBD-Codes.com on Facebook

You may notice drivability problems such as pinging (a.k.a.
pre-ignition knock) when the engine is under load or the vehicle is at
higher speeds. There may also be other symptoms.

    Causes:

A code P0401 most likely means one or more of the following has
    happened:

    • The DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor is faulty and
      needs
      to be replaced

    • There is a blockage in the EGR (tube), most likely carbon buildup

    • The EGR valve is faulty

    • The EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vaccuum

Possible Solutions:In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace
the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not
    always the culprit.

    • Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring
      engine RPM's
& DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's
      with the
      EGR open

    • Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits

    • Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer
      to a repair
      manual for your specific model)

    • Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)

    • Replace the EGR valve

    Test it.

I had fuel pressure checked they said it was good. Told me maybe fuel injector?? Don't. Wanna waste time or money

Nobody wants to waste time or money but diagnostics is a process and not a guessing game.
Most of the time things have to be checked and if nothing is found it seems like a waste of time and money but in reality checking and finding nothing eliminates possible faults so the next stage in the process can be moved to.

A full fuel pressure and delivery test also checks for dribbling or leaking injectors but there are no definite tests checking for spray patterns without removing the injectors for specialist attention.

1991 Saturn dohc 1.9 turns over tries to start then dies. we've replaced fuel pump, coils, battery all the sensors, fuel pressure regulator.

Find someone that knows a little about engines, Tammy. It's a 91. First is to check the engine. Compression. After that , check timing, oil pressure. Then go to tune up. Sorry to say, but you probably wasted money on a bad engine.

Got this fuel saving magnet and need to know the ideal place of the fuel line to mount it.

i`m sorry to say that these types of devices don`t save fuel and the extremely few that do which is none it does not off set the expense to purchase them, unfortunetly you have wasted money on this and you would get better fuel mileage if you change your driving habits and make sure your vehicle is maintained don`t feel that just because things seem to be working fine and you have not had maintenance done for a long time that there is nothing wrong

Svc engine light keeps coming and engine races. replaced gas cap ran fine for 3 hours

If your light is on, take it to Autozone. They will scan it and tell you what is wrong. It is free. This will let you know what to check. It could be a few things, but with a code, you will know for sure. I don;t want you to waste your your money for nothing. Autozone will tell you what the code is. It could be a MAP sensor but that is just one possibility. If you need anything else, feel free to contact me, I am here to help you in anyway I can. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

What is wrong when pulling off car does not want to catch gears llike it should it feels like it may be pulling a little

Well, nothing may be necessarily wrong. try a tune up, changing the spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, air filter and fuel filter and see if this boosts your performance. It should help significantly.

I have a ticking coming from the engine( 1999 Grand Vitarra) Why? It also has white emission when starting for about 30 sec and when using the heat the cab smells like gas. I really nees this car to be...

You dont give us much to go on do you?
Ticking from the engine can be really anything. As long as it's only ticking and not loud noises you need not worry. White smoke when starting leads me to believe your engine may be a little on the old/worn side.(more than 100000 miles?) Still nothing to worry about. (Worn rings or valve stem seals will cause that, but wont halt the engine. Just make sure the oil level in the engine is correct) It is unfortunately an expensive repair but if the engine is running something as simple as changing sparkplugs will get the engine running again if it stalls.(Spark plugs get fouled with oil on older engines and cause misfires)
The gas smell in the cab is a little more serious. You shouldnt smell gas in the cab at any time. It may be as simple as a leaking pipe. Easy to fix. You can DIY if you can see the leak. Just replace the pipe, It needs nothing more than a screwdriver and perhaps a pair of pliars.
It may unfortunately also need some adjusting. Unfortunate because it costs money even though it is very simple and uncomplicated.
I would suggest that when you do take it in, tell the mechie your hubby works on an oil rig in the Gulf, he usually works on the car but you dont want to take any chances and he'll only be back in 2 week's time. That should protect you from about half the chancers out there. Never let on that you are the weaker one. You're simply there to get the job done quicker.

there could be a transmission problem, if you can have it hoisted get the trans cover off, look for metal shaving s or sediment- if it exists then that is your issue if automaticc, Transimssion cogs could be seizing if its manual. If not then I would be looking at your suspension components.

Subaru Legacy B4 - 1999 cutting out electrical/mechanical???

there is nothing worse to chase down than an intermittent electrical problem.the computer will only lead to the area if there is a code stored.
check all plugs are secure and all grounds.with it running, wiggleall the wiring harnesses and connectors and see if it dies.it may be heat related,so take a blow dryer and heat a few sensors to see if that causes a failure.
