Question about 1999 Mazda Millenia
The trunk of our 2005 kia optima didn't open by using the key-only by pulling the lever inside. i tried to 'fix' it by switching the lever inside the trunk- now the trunk wont open at all and the back seat wont fold down :( would love any ideas you may have to fix this!
By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.
