2003 Pontiac Grand Am gt. the blower motor

2003 Pontiac Grand Am gt. the blower motor stopped working on settings 1-4 only 5 worked. Then 5 went out a couple months later. I replaced the 30amp fuse in the engine compartment and it worked again for another couple months. Now it pops the fuse instantly so I replaced the resistor. Still keeps blowing the fuse and doesn't work on any fan speed. Any suggestions?

You'll need to replace the switch and the blower motor. If you just put on a blower motor it will probably work on five. Its more difficult pulling dash apart then it is replacing the switch, but that's what's going on.
If a fuse isn't burnt through it works as good as a new one, so keep the old for possible future use.

The fan on my heater/ac stop working on settings 1-4 for awhile it worked on #5 but has now stopped altogether

The blower resistor has gone out but if blower is no longer working on speed 5 then either the blower motor is bad as well or the pigtail connector to the motor are bad. Check the plugs to the resistor and to the blower motor for insulation damage discolored or melted wiring.

1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT; Elec problem with fan

Replace the blower resistor that is mounted next to the blower motor on the passenger side of the vehicle.
This will restore correct blower operation and I suspect it is also back-feeding voltage resulting in your electrical issues.
Two screws hold the blower resistor into the heater case and it is very easy to replace.
Good luck

Heater blower is not working on my pontiac grand am

Does it work on any of the 5 settings? If it works on the highest setting but none of the others it is the blower motor resistor thats gone bad. It is about the size of a credit card and is located on the blower motor housing under the glove box. It is held in with 2 really small bolts I think 5 or 6 mm. Pull it out and check to see if you see any corrosion on the resistor. If none of the settings works check for a blown fuse.

Blower motor stop working on 2000 Pontiac GP

Two possibilities I can think of. #1. The blower motor itself is dead, or #2. The blower motor resistor is fried. Blower motor resistor, however, is more known for taking out certain fan speeds, such as the lower fan speeds.

Blower motor not working

Try replacing the blower motor resistor, it has different resistances for each speed. Mounted on the passenger side air duct, it is kind of a ***** to get to but you can see the harness if you invert and shove your head up into the footwell.
