I have a 2004 santa fe that the temperature suddenly starting climbing and steam was coming fromunder the hood but no water leaks could be seen anywhere and the heater stopped heating

Didn't see any leaks, because all the coolent has already leaked out. 100% sure if you let it cool down, fill it up with coolent and restart it, you will soon find your leak. (if you don't find the leak just by adding coolent) Im willing to bet its your lower or upper radiator hose.

Why does my 2000 pontiac grand am leak coolant

coolant leaking could come from different areas, i would 1st start checking for leaks around the thermostat area, this is normally where the top radiator hose connects too, then i would look at the water pump area to see if any coolant is visable on the outside of it, also check your heater hoses for leaks too, some cars have even had antifreeze leaks coming from the freeze plugs, which are installed into the engines block, they are normally on the sides of the engines. don't forget to check out the radiator, a good way to find antifreze leaks is after you drive the car for a while, and then park it, and then put a large piece of cardboard under your car, make it large enough to go from the radiator to at least the windshield area, if it leaks then, you will be able to see what area the antifreeze has leaked.

I HAVE ANITFREEZE LEAKS FROM MY 2000 CHEVY S10 BLAZER. IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT THE LEAK SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM UNDER THE MOTOR RATHER THAN FROM THE RADIATOR OR ANY HOSE I CAN SEE.

a common V6 failure is the intake manifold gasket. coolant will usually leak behind the water pump on the drivers side, however it can leak at other locations on the intake manifold gasket.

coolant leaks from other areas include the heater core, hoses, expansion plugs, trans cooler, and coolant overflow tank.

I have a 2004 Cherokee and there is coolant in the transmission. Any idea how it got there?

No coolant is suppose to be in transmission. How it got there is easy, you radiator has transmission lines running through the bottom of it. Your radiator has an internal leak into those trans lines. You'll probably find oily substance in coolant also.

Coolent lose

Check youre waterpump...also spending 5 dollars on "Radiator STOP Leak" is a good investment. its an additive you add to youre radiator. If the actual radiator has a small crack or leak, this will fix it. Check every inch of both the upper and lower radiator hoses and connections.

I have a 2004 Sorento with coolent leaking from the plug

You can try a radiator bars stop leak that is silver at auto parts stores or regular stores but that goes thru your whole system Or you can try course black pepper It will clog the leak and expand and will not harm any part of your system.
