I was driving down a dirt road and my 2006 kia sportage died Why did it die

Either something shook loose and then regained connection, or your air filter became clogged with dust. Check your air filter.

It sounds as though you have ignition. Try a shot of starter fluid an see if the engine tries to start. If it sounds like it wants to start, you can at least narrow it down to the fuel delivery system. Let me know.

Why does my car try to die when i drive down the road?

Try to check the ignition coil, when you driving it become hot then the car dies end won't start. After awhile when it's cold, then it will start. Replace the ignition coil.
I hope it solves the problem

Car dies in drive or reverse, runs fine in neutral. Changed fuel pump and filter

maybe the timing needs to be advanced if it is an older vehicle. ie, turn the revs up abit

Car is quiting while going down road

Have you ever replaced the ignition coil? Sometimes a coil will heat up and break apart inside losing your connection/charge inside it to fire your plugs.

It sounds like it going to die when i start going down the road.

Check the Pick up coil on the Distributor. I had the same issue and no mechanic could resolve it. I found out the Pick up coil plastic coating was grounding out.
