Hi..

this may be because of following reasons
1.battery power is low recharge it and try starting.
2.the supply going to the starting motor is chopped off so no power is going to the motor for starting.
3.the terminal to which these motors are connected may be damaged.(motor terminal)
4.the junction box/relay to which the motor is connected may be damaged.
5.the fuse may be blown out for the motor
6.the starting motor may be damaged so that starting motor doesnt turn

these may be the reasons for not starting.

if my answer was useful to you please rate me

What causes an error mssage of: Restart now or key is needed in a Ford Edge.

Driving 4. Start - press the START/STOP button (for any length of time) while applying the brake pedal. Note: The indicator light on the start button will illuminate when the vehicle is in on mode and when the engine is started. There may be areas inside your vehicle where the IA key is not detected. If the message NO KEY DETECTED appears on your message center when you press the START/STOP button, it may be necessary to move your IA key to another area within the vehicle. The IA key may not be detected near the roof (between the driver or passenger sunvisor and the roof, or in the overhead console area) or in the extreme corners of the rear package tray, near your audio speakers. It is not recommended that you stow the IA key in these locations. If you move the IA key to a location where it has been detected before and you still see the NO KEY DETECTED message, your IA key's battery may be low or you may be in an area with excessive radio frequency interference. If this occurs, you can use the back-up method to start your vehicle (see below). Back-up method of starting: Your IA key uses a radio frequency signal to communicate with your vehicle and authorize your vehicle to start when you press the START/STOP button and apply the brake pedal. If excessive radio frequency interference is present in the area, or if the battery in your IA key is low, it may be necessary to start your car by inserting the IA key in the back-up slot, located at the front of the center console storage compartment. Insert the IA key into the slot with buttons facing down and with key ring out. After inserting the IA key into the back-up slot, use the START/STOP button and brake pedal to start your vehicle as usual. The vehicle should respond normally as long as the IA key is in the back-up slot. Once the vehicle is started, the IA key can be removed from the back-up slot, if desired. Fast restart feature: The Fast Restart feature allows you to re-start your vehicle within 20 seconds of switching the vehicle off, if a valid IA key is not present when the vehicle is switched off. Jump starting a Buick Lacrosse 2005

Jump starting
If your vehicles battery has run down, you may want to use another vehicle and some jumper cables to start your vehicle.
1.Check the other vehicle. it must have a 12-volt battery with a negative ground system.
2.Get the vehicles close enough so the jumper cables can reach, but be sure the vehicles are not touching each other. If they are, it could cause a ground connection you do not want. You would not be able to start your vehicle, and the bad grounding could damage the electrical systems.
3.Turn off the ignition on both vehicles. Unplug unnecessary accesories pluged into the cigarrete lighter or the accessory power outlets. Turn off the radio and lamps that are not needed. This will avoid sparks and save both batteries. And it could save the radio.
4.Open the hood on the other vehicle and locate positive (+) and the negative (-) terminal locations on that vehicle. You will not use yours vehicles battery for jump starting. It has a remote positive (+) jump starting terminal, located on the underhood fuse block, for that purpose.

Why does my hatch back open during driving

Why do you jump start your vehicle. Jump starting is not recommended on newer vehicles because of the electronic components the new vehicles come with. Did you know that when you jump start newer vehicles, access voltage can be generated from the other vehicle giving the jump, and that access voltage can damage the vehicle getting the jump. The vehicle's computer and/or other electronic components can be damaged. If your computer gets damaged, it will forget how to start. A replacement computer can cost several thousand dollars.

When you replaced battery you activated the system. Need to read owner manual and see if it tells how to deactivate it. You may need to contact dealer to deactivate it.

Car wont start, changed ecm, plugs, started but died, what should i do

After you put in the ecu, do the crank relearn, and you're good to go.
Ensure that your battery is fully charged before attempting the relearn procedure. Do not leave any battery charger or jumper cables attached to the battery. Close the hood completely. Some applications require that the doors remain closed during the procedure.

1. Rotate the key to the start position to attempt to start the vehicle (the vehicle will not start).
Allow the key to return to the all position (same as if the vehicle would have started). The theft system light will flash (or stay lit) on the dash for approximately 10 minutes.
2. When the theft system telltale stops flashing (or turns oft) turn the key to the off position for 5 seconds and then attempt tostart the vehicle. The vehicle should start on this cycle.
3. Once the vehicle is running, the password relearn is complete.

4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes.
5. On the next cycle of turning the ignition key from off to crank the vehicle should start
6. Once the vehicle is running, the password is learned and this completes the cycle.
7. Clear any DTC's with a scan tool if necessary. DTC history will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles.
