Battery won't stay charged/car dead after hitting pot hole

I hit a huge pot hole, but care drove fine just after. I decided to be on the safe side and take the next fwy exit to check the tire/rim. I turned off the ignition to check the tire, but when I got back in and tried to start the car, there was no power, the headlights would not work, gear would not move just as if the kill switch was on. I got a jump on the battery, then it started but when I turn if off, it will not start again with out a jump. I took a very hard hit from the pot hole, could I have knocked someting loose?

If it starts off a jump then no. Your battery has a dead cell in it. Replace the battery and you should be fine.

I hit a pot hole and my battery died the next morning. I got it tested and it was bad. I bent both right side wheels after hitting a pot hole. My car won't stay charged. Active steering is off too.

I would check all earth wire on your car , as it sounds if there is a bad earth wire or a broken one ., this would explain your battery going flat and the flat battery would probably cause your problem with the steering as it will probably be an electric steering pump

I drove to work fine got back in 4 hours later car won't start battery dead. then got a jump came home turn car off now car wont start.

If you just hear a click, try this:
This procedure usually works:
·Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.

·Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.

·Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.
·Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

I think there is a possiblity that the ABS Braking System
had a role there

Hopefully that was just a normal car issue, although one
that won't be understood, if all continues as in the past
