My 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX has never given me problems. I just had the brakes done today (new pads, rotors, fluid) Then, when I park the car, I shut it off and exit. When I click the "lock" button on my remote, it does not work. I look inside and the clock is still running and my windows will roll up and down. I had to disconnect the battery in order to save power to start it up. Any ideas as to what is making it stay on?

Defective, damaged, or contaminated brake pads or shoes on one side. Excessive wear of shoe or pad on one side. Defective drum brake or caliper, stuck piston or other damage.
where is hissing sound coming from under hood or behind tire the brake booster is a vacuum and another thing is a caliper may be leaking or maybe brake line
Same problem, it's the fluid/parking brake light so you can't scan for codes, it shouldn't happen, just had the brakes done. The shop monkeys can't figure it out. Help.
i would inspect your brake pads and rotor. if the pads dug into the rotor, then it would be cheaper to buy a new rotor for around 28 dollars at advance or autozone. if the pads are good, then i would jack up the car, shake the tire up,down then left, right to see if it is a bearing. while you got the tire in the air after its jacked up...spin it by hand; if no sound then its somewhere in the brakes or brake caliper.
1. Machine or replace rotors and/or Drums
2. New Disc Pads and /or Brake Shoes & springs for brake shoes
3. New or recond Brake Booster
4. New or recond Master Cylinder
5. New or recond Disc brake calipers and/or wheel Cylinders
6. Brake fluid
7. Check all the brake fluid lines for any damage
thats about all I can think of, hope it helps
If it's not making horrible washing machine noises, it sounds like it's low on fluid. Make sure the ATF is in the operating range with it running in Park.
