Question about Pontiac Aztek

1 Answer

My 2001 pontiac aztek started overheating while driving down the highway, I pulled over to let it cool down and tried to continue a little further and it continued to stay hot. I pulled over and let the car sit for a few hours. When I returned I poured some water into the radiator but never actually saw the water flow through the line. My car will turn over when I tryto start it but will not start. Please help me

Major damage can occur to an engine that has been overheated, unfortunately.

The head gasket can blow in these cases causing a loss of compression.

I'm sorry to say that the engine might be blown.

But, I would get a second opinion on it by having it towed to the nearest Pontiac service center to have the engine analyzed for problems.

Good luck.

I had that problem before, the intake manifold gasket leaks. After replacing it runs like a charm. I have an '01 also and still have it.
