My timeing belt broke on my 2001 vw beetle i replaced it but it wont start

    Did you verify that the valve timing was correct? Did you determine if any valves were bent by the broken belt?

Unfortunately, it is an INTERFERENCE ENGINE, which means that if a timing belt breaks, you will bend several valves. You will have to pull the top half of the motor and have some valves replaced.

ADVICE ON TIMING BELT


That's a rule of thumb every 60K mi you need to replace the belt even though it looks fine.

start at crank goes around crank pulley and ac compressor then inside the idler back out around alternator theninside tensioner belt will almost touch itself between pulleys

2001 vw beetle blinkers wont work


your flasher module has gone bad. on the new beetles, the hazard button is the flasher. you should be able to purchase on at your local dealer for around $25-$30.

2001 VW Beetle Will not start


Hi.
Check the heavy duty cables from the battery to the starter motor and solenoid and also the battery earthing (grounding?) - there terminals could be corroded / burned.
