It seem there is a clunking noise comming from the left front wheel. What causes to do that?

It could be the ball joint, hub bearing, or a tie rod end, or even the half shaft wearing out.

What can cause a Clunking Noise in right front wheel area when truning wheel to the right when slowly backing up or pulling forward?


If its a front wheel drive more then likely its the half shaft That's a drive shaft on the rt front

When I turn my wheels to the left and right 45 degrees past center I hear a hard "clunk" noise.


If your car has struts, its probably the upper strut mount. Don't rule out a broken spring.

Clunking noise comming from front


check your lug nuts first. if there tight jack the front of the car off the ground, then wiggle the tire left to right and up and down. if you have any play then your wheel bearings are out. if you dont have play then reach around to where your front wheel drive axle attaches and wiggle it in the same fassion. you should have your answer when you do this to both sides

what side the does the noise come from?if right side the right cv axle if left side then left cv axle has gone bad common problem on front wheel drive cars.to make sure look under car and look next to tire there should be a black rubber boot that is accordion shaped if torn there's your problem.
