Chevy decided on the 2004 models that the transmissions where going to be a sealed unit and they were not going to need to be inspected or have fluid or filter changed. however there is a way to check it.

My car has no dip stick either. it has an eyeglass on the bottom of the transmission. Theres this little plug the mechanic pulls to see if it has fluid in it.

Look above the trans, should be there, sometimes a different color. If no luck check your manual or look for one online, call a dealer. My 94 stick was yellow.

never heard of it ! All cars have them somewhere.

Even the newest cars have them. Take it to NAPA or Auto Zone parts stores or some parts store and just ASK. They are real good at helping. Sounds like yours fell off, or you are not seeing it.

YOUR TRANSMISSION NEED A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE.YOUR TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE A DIP STICK.TO CHECK FLUID.YOU HAVE A LEVEL CHECK PLUG.YOUR CAR HAS TO BE LEVEL AND RAISED BY PUTTING ON A LIFT TO CHECK FLUID LEVEL.GARAGE HAVE TO DO THIS.IF YOUR VECHICLE HAVE A DIP STICK.DRIVE CAR FEW MILES CHECK FLUID LEVEL ON THE DIP STICK.SHOULD BE ON THE FULL MARK.IF NOT ADD A PINT TO BRING LEVEL UP TO FULL MARK DONT OVER FILL. Where is the dip stick to check the transmisssion fluid on 2004 mercury mountineer

There's no dip stick on your truck, transmission fluid get check at transmission pan, on drain plug on the center of it, will have a small hex screw, with engine running in park, remove center screw, if fluid comes out, level is good, if no fluid comes out, fluid will have to be pump up through there, hope this was very helpful.

Where is the dipstick for trany located under the hood

Some models do not have a dipstick. There is a plug in the back of the tranny that you pull. with the vehicle running in park and the fluid warm, the fluid should be level with the hole. It will drain out if there is to much. The fill is ontop, there is a red plug that is hand screwed in.
