Reverse not working (automatic transmission) - 1999 Ford Explorer

We are a north American website, English only.

Linkage cables is the most likely problem.

Common issue on ZF transmissions. Reverse clutch failed and the only way is overhaul/change transmission :(

run the fault codes and look for TCM or reverse servo/solenoid problem

Loss of reverse gear in an automatic gearbox

Broken Reverse selector Band

Brake material on Selector band is Worn out

Selector band needs sever adjustment

Selector bands hydraulic piston seal had failed

Selector not getting oil to work the piston.

NO REVERSE ON TRANSMISSION







It
can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt.
Also get the tranny fluid checked. If it\'s low, then such problems
occurs.
