Make sure it is a o2 malfunction before changing it,the o2 just gives information mainly, the generic code is a mass air flow sensor, and this would be more like what the problem is.

Check engine light on my 02 toyota tundra stays on. Diagnostics say I need to replace heated oxygen sensor, bank 2 sensor 1.

Bank 2 will be the side that DOESN'T have the #1 Cylinder..Sensor 1 will be the one BEFORE the catalyitic convertor. On your car if it is a V6 then Bank 2 is the DRIVERS side, and if it's a V8 then Bank 2 is the PASSENGER side.

I have place a diagnosic monitor on my Tundra, It give me a message that I have a malfuntion in Bank 2 Sensor 1 of the heating system. In my repair manual I cannot find where bank 2 is located so I can...

There are 2 oxygen sensors on each side; bank 1 is driver side, while bank 2 is the passenger side. Sensor 1 is the one up closest to the exhaust manifold; sensor 2 is back just in front of each catalytic convertor. You can get one at AutoZone for about $90. Also you'll need a special split socket to remove the sensor. You can't remove it with a regular socket because of the wires so a split socket is used, about $10. Ask for one at the auto supply store.

P0051 code, where is the sensor located, where is bank 2 sensor 1 located on truck, 2003 4.7 engine, tundra truck

Bank 2 is passenger side, sensor 1 is the one up closest to the exhaust manifold. Plug in type (just remove old and plug back into the wiring harness connector) is about $90 at Autozone. You can get a cheaper one that you splice but it's confusing to understand which wires to splice together. Don't forget to buy the special socket, $10, to remove and install the sensor. It's split up the side for the wires. Forget trying to use an open end wrench, socket is best.

Check Engine light is on

I would recommend that you change all oxygen sensors at the same time. A little expensive but it will save you the the aggravation of changing one at a time. Get it all done at once. anyhow the bank 2 sensor 2 is the Right side manifold second sensor the one closes to the catalytic converter. good luck. thanks for using FIX YA
