Rear lights are on all the time

Toyota corolla year 2000 rear lights are on all the time, even with car
turned off

    Thanks to you all, The problem was a faulty switch
    on the brake pedal. problem solved !!

if a 4 cyl it will be the rear most cylinder and if a v6 it will be the middle cyl on the right bank looking at the front of the motor.

is your toyota corolla diesel engine or petrol engine?
I personally use for Cyprus hot climate 10W40 Semi Synthetic oil also I believe for moderate climate you can use the same viscosity as well. Also the same oil you can use it on diesel engine .

Is this brake lights or tail lights? If brake, then switch on pedal is stuck, if tail lights, then switch is bad.

you need to check the fuse for it. with no power going to it that is the most likely explanation. other than that, trace the wire from the light and be sure there is no breaks

My 2000 corolla ve.. when I turn on the blower speed the a/c is always on even if the a/c button isn't pressed...the a/c light is always on.. what could be the problem?


Check to ensure that the controller is not set to Defog/Defrost setting as this will always require the AC compressor to be engaged.

Yes, I believe the Sending Unit is probably bad. I presume the guage works, it is just that the light stays on. The light is getting an electical connection because the ECU thinks that gas is low. Mass Air Flow sensor! Just remove your air filter cover. Go to Auto Zone and purchase some solvent. Spray past the air filter and it should correct the problem. If not, replace the Mass air-flow sensor. This is commonly mistaken for an oxygen sensor. Mine did this and I followed these steps and it fixed the light. BTW, the light stayed on for 5 years before I fixed it. Never hurt anything. It's normally something to do with emissions. Dummy lights. :)
