Question about 2004 GMC Envoy

1 Answer

AC blower stopped working on my 2004 GMC EnvoyXL. The rear AC blower works but not the front. Checked the fuses and relays, they appear to be OK.

Does it work on heat mode if not then it is probably the blower motor switch in the dash or the blower itself

2004 gmc yukon xl, rear ac/heat not coming on AT ALL. not blowing or anything. stopped suddenly, and has not come back on. checked all fuses and relays. no problems with the from ac

I will assume the ac is still getting cold, just not blowing.
You wouldn't really know unless you pulled the panel and checked the lines.
Causes include the blower motor, resistor, fuse, or switch.

The ac works but the switch wont turn on the fan. the rear controls work. its just the front that doesnt. checked the relay switches they seem fine.

Either you have defective blower motor or a defective blower motor resistor module. The resistor module has been known to fail on these trucks. Both items are located behind the glove box.

Heat and ac controls do not work. also rear window defrost will not operate

There are few things that has to be checked.
  • Check Engine Coolant Level
  • Inspect Heater Control Valve
  • Check Vacuum Feed
  • Blower motor
If the blower motor is faulty it will affect both the heat and cold in the car. Also check the fuse in the blower motor fuse panel.if the fuse is faulty ,then can also be the reason.if every thing checks out OK.then its the fault in wirings of the AC system.
Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Subaru Forrester blowers in front not working

Since you have checked fuses and relays that only leaves the blower motor resistor pack. Here is a diagram of how to replace it. I hope this corrects your concern...
Blower Resistor (Manual A/C Model)

REMOVAL

105915171

  1. Remove the glove box.
  2. Disconnect the blower resistor connector.
  3. Loosen the two screws to remove blower resistor.
