Question about Ford E-350

2 Answers

I have a 2001 E-350 ford passenger Van, and Power Locks stopped working. Is this a fuse and if it is where in the fuse box is it located. I think I have tested or look at all of them and can not find one that is out. Thanks, Paul

I have a 2001 E-350 15 Passenger van and there is no power to any of the locks, I have checked all fuses and listen for the relay switch to make noises when operating locks, I heard nothing and was listening under passenger dash , I think that is where it is located, but of course I don't no where and what it looks like. or if that is the problem. All i know is that my wife is tired of locking and un-locking by hand.

    Please help,

    Thanks,

Fuse boxes on modern cars can be located under the dash on the drivers side, under the dash on the passenger side, or under the hood.

This is where it can get more difficult. You see in practice lining up the electrical schematic with the connections in the power distribution box is difficult, because they may not publish the information as to where exactly the fuse is or the relay.

So, you have to pull each fuse one by one until you find the one that is blown, or even pull the relays one by one until you find the one that has burnt contacts inside.

Some technicians have the fuse tester that can quickly test a fuse while it is installed.

A continuity meter can test the contacts of the relay, to see if it's shorted out or open in its unpowered unplugged state.

    Hope this helps.

If the fuses are checked ok.Then the first thing in line after the fuse is the drivers door switch. I see a lot of issues with the wires that go through from the body to the door. Broken or shorted wires are common. Remove the switch from the drivers door and unplug it. If the fuse does not blow that it could be the switch. The power wire is spliced and supplies each door switch so if the short is gone with just the drivers switch out the other doors are ok. If it blows again try moving the wire harness between the door and body to see if you get a change. If the door switch checks out Ok.There is a rocker switch located in the rear right door panel that will lock or unlock all of the doors the same way the driver's switch does. The switch has 5 prongs on the back; 4 of them in a square configuration with the fifth prong in the middle. It plugs into a connector block. Other problem can be the relay problem. If the relay is not clicking the power locks will not function. There is a locking relay behind the dash on the passengers side, just listen for clinking sound when you un-lock it. If there is no clicking then the relay is faulty. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

There is no power to any locks, so I'm thinking it's the relay switch, the question is where did you say it was located, I looked under passenger dash and listened while pressing lock and un-lock and heard nothing. What does it look like?

    Thanks,

    A small elctromagnetic actuator or motor, mounted inside the vehicle door of vehicles equipped with power door locks. It electrically locks and unlocks vehicle door locks. It's usually controlled by a master mechanical switch on the front passenger doors;

Where is the fuse that locks/unlocks doors in 2006 ford freestar

The smart junction box - a electronic control module controls the door locks . There is not a single fuse just for the door locks , there are fuse's that power up the SJB but not just for the door locks ! There are relays incorporated into the SJB for door lock open an close control ,there are not replaceable .

Whitch fuse and relay are for power door locks on 07 e-150 ford cargo van

Open up the Owners Manual in your Glove Box, inside there it will show you a Diagram of BOTH Fuse Boxes and will tell you what EACH FUSE or RELAY Controls... There is a Picture followed by a couple word description for each of them.

Beings as everything that stopped working is on the passenger side, I'd think some wiring got disconnected or broken.

Power locks will not work 98 buick

If all the power locks work, it is probably a fuse. Locate the fuse box(es). I think there are 2 on your model. Check your owners manual for locations. I think there is one under the back seat and one up by the glove box area.

My wipers stopped working on my ford windstar van and i can't find the fuse box to see if a fuse is bad

your fuse box will be located by the drivers side kick panel, under the dash ,, its the same with most Fords, also for higher amp fuses they have a fuse box under the hood ,,if you have the manual, it will show locations for each fuse, if not the dealer can print one out for you in the parts dept,, they are usually free

I can't locate the correct fuse for the door locks. They won't work with or without the fob.

If your power door locks work with the button inside the car, then it won't be your fuse, but the remote control module located behind your glove box... if nothing works, then it could be a fuse or relay, which should be located under your hood
