Question about 1998 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
Are any of the door buttons or sensors open causing the interior lights to stay on after you slam the door shut?
The automatic battery saver will invoke after 30 minutes or more, like a Ford, I presume.
I looked at the schematic and noticed a 'central locking micro switch' near the power door lock actuator in each door.
Also, there is an 'all activity module' between the left and right, front and back, domelights.
This all activity module could be going bad or incomplete wiring to it caused the problem.
An Auto Electric repair shop that specializes in Mercedes from the year 1998 could help you, further.
Wish you the best of luck on this repair.
