Question about 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

My 2002 Chevy Blazer will crank over and no fuel is coming from the gas tank and i took fuel pressure tester to it and it read 30psi. It sounds like a fuel pump issue but what else could cause it or be.

Chevy Blazer no gas will not start. Changed filter, gas gage lies about level. Goes to zero when starting. Full tank.

Possible bad fuel pump. Have someone crank the engine while rapidly hitting the bottom of the fuel tank with your fist agressively. You can also use a hammer and hit the tank using the flat of the hammer head while the engine is being cranked. If it starts or tries to start, suspect a bad fuel pump

2002 Chev Blazer 4wd with 4.3. Cold or warm the engine cranks for several seconds before it fires. Then it runs but is flooded and takes a while to clear.

it sounds like you may have a pressure problem , not a flooding issue , this is a fuel injected motor and is probably losing fuel pressure , this could be at the gas tank , fill cap , fuel filter, to the injector rail , many places to check , I would have this checked by a pro as this is a fuel issue "BOOM"

2002 chevy silverado starts right up but then dies right away starts right up again but dies

By what your stating, that it starts and dies every time, It seems to be fuel related. You need to perform a fuel pressure check. You will need a pressure tester, one that would at least be able to read pressure to a maximum of 150 lbs of pressure. Although you really only need about 50-60 pounds of pressure to maintain proper fuel injector operation. There is a test port located on the fuel rail where you would conect the pressure tester. The test port is usually located on the drivers side of the engine near the rear section coming up from the firewall. Unscrew the pressure port cap if its still there and connect your tester. But also keep in mind you may have fuel pressure of some sort in the rail so be careful. While the tester is screwed to the test port you want to cycle the ignition key on and read pressure, you may want to repeat this several times. You must have at least 50 pounds of pressure, if so it should start. If you are losing pressure while your maintaining a visual check on the tester it could also be a faulty pressure regulator/fuel pump or even a rubber hose connection inside the fuel tank that connects the fuel pump to the fuel line. If you have any questions Im here to help. Thanks for using FIXYA

S10 blazer lacks power, bogs under acceleration

Check your coil output, buy a cheep spark tester. Pull of a spark plug wire and plug in the tester(ground the other end), set it to bridge a gap for 30,000 volts.Have someone start it and make sure the spark will jump the gap on the tester.Danger-Very high voltage! It will light you up if your touching the tester while the car is running! You'll be able to see a bright blue spark(and hear it as well) if your coil is good.If it's a yellow thin spark it's probably the coil.
If you have good spark, check the fuel filter and fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
Back firing could be timing, cam position or crank position sensor.Worst case scenario, timing chain or belt.

Replaced the manifold gasket on 2000 blazer it is getting fuel (preesure is 65 lbs) it is also getting spark. 100 percent positive that the distributor is on number 1 at tdc (it is pointing to the #1...

You said your getting 65psi for fuel pressure, if that's what your getting for fuel pressure then it's to much the truck is dumping fuel and drowing out the plugs that's why it won't start. Fuel prssure should read 30psi at start then when the motor is started it should still read 30psi until you give if gas then the pressure will go to 40psi being the max.
