If the calipers are locking up then the master cylinder may not be working correctly. Check the main vacuum line to the Master Cylinder and see if releasing the bleed valves on the calipers will release the brakes. If you release the calipers by bleeding while the engine is off and then they lockup when the vehicle is started then you have a master cylinder problem.

99 pontiac grand am - brakes are locked-up


Have you checked the emergency brake ? The cable could be locked up. Slowly apply e brake if it feels loose the cable is locked up. You could also have someone watch the cable near the rear wheel to see if it moves .

Rear brakes locking up


this could be either the brakes adjusted to tight or wheel cylinder is leaking and making the shoes sticky or the brakes went metal to metal and has seized up in the drums if it has disc brakes the hardware on the calipers are badand need replaced or the calpers are locked up and needs to be replaced i hope this helps

Front brakes lock up


your brake calipers are stuck! replace the brake calpiers and won't hurt to replace the hoses at the same time.

Right front brake is locking. Was replace 1 week


Either the brake caliper is the problem,or the brake hose going to the caliper is colasped .Replace the brake hose.

Brake lock-up


I suspect that you have front disc and rear drum brakes.You did not say which of your brakes are locking up. I suggest that if your front brakes are locking {skid} that means your rear brakes are not engaging. If your rear brakes are locking {skid} then I suggest you have problems with park brake or brake fluid leaking onto the rear shoes.
