THE ENGINE WOULD MISS BY HAVING A LOW VIBRATION. NO NOISE WOULD BE MADE. WHEN HAVING A BAD PLUG THE RPM TACH GAUGE'S NEEDLE WILL FLUXUATE. IF THE PLUGS ARE GOOD THE NEEDLE WILL STAY STEADY AT AN IDLE

1997 la sabre no noise starter wont turn motor over, turn by hand it binds up

Pull the spark plugs and see if coolant comes out of the spark plug holes when you turn it over by hand. If it does than the upper plenum has ruptured and will need to be replaced.

How to Test Spark Plugs in Audi A6 car?

1) Test the spark plug ignition. For that disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2) Then touch the spark plug wire close to a metal surface of the car. Then spin the key in ignition switch. If you will see a spark or hear a crackling noise. This means the wire to the spark plug has voltage in it.
3) If there is no spark when you crack the engine it means that a spark plug wire is dead.
4) Check out all the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires are hooked up properly to their points.
5) If any of the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires is loose then this can also relate to no spark.
6) But if all the battery cable, ignition wires and coil wires are properly connected then its time to replace the spark plugs.
7) Before replacing clean the old spark plugs connections and recheck.
8) Many a time’s cleaning or moving the spark plug connections makes it work.
9) If nothing is getting the spark plug to spark, then it needs replacement.
This will help. Thanks.

Make a little engine noise and shake a little.

Change spark plugs After checking. Open hood in the dark of night and look for sparking
along the plug wires and at the spark plugs themselves. If you can see sparking (or hear it) replace the wires.

My check engine light came on and I took it to Advanced Auto Parts, he told me the code was P0301 and read a misfire on spark plug 1. He said it could be the coil. What is your opinion, I just had the...

Check the spark plugs, on cyl#1 if the problem started after they were replaced you could have a defective plug. As for the metal to metal noise have your brakes inspected. They could be worn out.

The car has started to shake when idle, with a faint banging noise

It's probably either a faulty spark plug, or spark plug wire, or a sticking valve lifter. I can't hear the noise, but if it's a tapping noise, it'll be a lifter. Try going to any parts store, and getting some engine additive. There are dozens on the market, but a cup of transmission oil in the crankcase will do the same thing.
If it's not that, then replace plugs and wires.

You either have a bad plug wire or have cracked one of the new plugs while installing them. Try watching under the hood while someone else accelerates the engine to locate the noise.
Good luck dont forget to rate.
