It all depends on what type of engine you have. So get back to me and let me know that way i'm not explaining it a bunch of different ways to u. However head gaskets are pretty difficult, and are not for the unexperienced or the unmechanically inclined. You can find detailed instructions for these type of things in either a Chilton or a Haynes repair manuals.

William, did you use the correct bolt(length), did you check all brackets, sliders, seized caliper, pads for damage, free movement, etc.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How to repair head gasket

You do not need a little advice from an online car repair forum. You need a service manual. The best place to get the information you are requesting is alldatadiy.com. There, you can subscribe to ALL the service information, including diagnostics, repair instructions,Technical Service Bulletins and Recalls for your 2005 Dodge Durango, for a very small annual fee. You will then have access to the same service information I would use to fix your truck if you were to bring it to my shop for repair.

Have a 03 dodge durango and have erratic idle, have changed plugs and coils, the 3 plugs 4,6, and 8 are fouled abd checked for vacuum leak get a p0300 code abd the check light blinks. help!!!!!

Do the plugs smell sweet? Your have 3 plugs side by side on the passengers side of the motor missing. A sweet smell would point to a head gasket leak.

Looking for how to line up or time a dodge durango

I don't think you have to remove the timing chain, to do head gaskets. if you are talking about the distributor, you could use a paint marker to mark indicator marks on intake and on this distributor

My 2000 Dodge Durango keeps overheating, I just changed the thermostat and it continues to overheat.

You might go to a repair shop that can check to see if exhaust gasses are present in the cooling system. Unfortunately, it is possible you have a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head. I hope I am wrong, but one of my co-workers went through the same thing with his Dakota.
Good Luck,
Richard
