You should get a service manual for your vehicle, at any good auto parts store. It will show you the colors in the wiring harness.

Google year & make of car for fuse panel fuse diagram. Do the fuse trick you did. If you notice any corrosion or caked gunk on fuse legs...replace fuse....If problem persists it's probably the VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor which gives the vehicle speed to the speedometer.

Can I get some help here.I bought a GMC 1989 king

Next to the hose routing, there should be a VECI label -the Vehicle Emission Control Information label. If your particular vehicle had a smog pump, the label will definitely list it. As for other models, I don't Know, probable that back then some did and some didn't. California requirements were always stricter than other states.

If you don't have an owners manual, you can do an internet search for "stratus fuse box diagram" to get a picture and chart.

How do u know if a crank sensor is bad on a 1994 dodge intrepid?

Check to see if you have any rpms on your tachometer in the car during engine crank. If you do sensor is probably fine but if your needle doesn't move at all sensor is bad. Your problem might be the same as mine at the coil pack/module connector. Four wire connector that was not getting a good connection. I got very lucky to have found this.
