If the knob is not physically broken off, it may just be a cable that has came undone or broken. You should be able to see cable on the back of the control panel to follow it to the problem. However if it is broken all the way off normally you will have to go to your dealership, and purchase the knob. . Local stores sell them by the whole dash piece instead of a single one. Or you can go to a salvage yard.. hopefully that answered your question.

Hi,
Probably need the entire control unit. Unless you've got some incredible glue. Hit the junk yards. Shouldn't be too bad in price.

The a.c compressor works and the drier is sweating cold water outside the truck but HOT air comes out of the vents no matter the setting on the temperature control knob. Any ideas?

Make year and model engines size and country it was sold new in will help tell what kind of system you have, 60's modeels are different then 70's and so forth to the present. 90's and newer have electric air doors and it' possiblre that the cold air blend door motor is'nt working or stuck or fuse blowed. The blend door changes the temperture from hot to cold by dircting the air over the evaporater core or the heater core to get the dired temperture. Reaching up from under the dash with the truck running and the airconditioner on and the fan on ( not high) touch all the different motors till you find the one thats moving as you turn the control from hot to cold. if it's poping or grinding or you can't find any of them responding you need a new blend door motor. Working the other controls like the frst to reciculatre ( that motot will move as you turn this control on and off and the made door motor changes as you ask for defrost to floor to panel. The one that's not working needs changed. Most auto parts stores have them as they fail alot. thier les than 50 bucks some are as little as 25 but you did;nt state the year of your truck.

My 2007 Chevy HHR 2.2L, coolant temp sensor is reading that the coolant temp is 20 degrees warmer than the outside temp after sitting for over 12 hours and the operating temp gets to 214 degrees without...

Sure the engine coolant will be warmer than the outside temperture and if the car has been sitting a long time in cold weather and the outside temperture warms up it could be the other way around. The coolant temperture sensers aren't real accurate as they are a relaitive senser beween hot and cold and the numbers reported don't have to be real just the change from hot to cold and the reching of the coolant to the operating temperture. Noe it the senser doesn't read the opertating temperture coprrectly you'll have all kinds of problems. The therostaste will try to set the temperture of the water to it's set temperture and can open or close completly to get 195 degrees F. Many times if it's too cold then the stat is bad and needs to be replaced This shows up in alot of cars first thing after winter and the first onset of cold weather when the daily tempertures vary the most from day to night.

Blows hot for about 10sec then goes to cold

More than likely the temp control switch in your dash. Common fail pont on these trucks. Dealer sells them for about $20.

My air conditioner only blows cold air on 5. Will not work on 1-4.

Hello. Most likely, your A/C relay is on it's way out. Go to any autoelectric repair shop and they can check it for you in no time. J.

With AC on cold, Drivers air full hot & passenger side full Cold

that is a good possibilty, but before I pulled the trigger I would try this first. unhook the battery for 5 minutes, rehook it, now turn the key on, wait for 2 minutes, now start the truck and see if the doors now work. sometimes this works, its worth a try.

Rear air only goes from cold to hot

sounds like the Blend Door Actuator.  Mine made a horrible noise but had not affected the temperture yet.  it was a $40 part from Ford and real easy to fix.
