Sunroof on 2003 dodge neon not operating - how do you test the switch? Shouldn't I be able to test the switch itself by use of ohm meter for open/close between pins? I receive no tone between any combo of pins no matter which way I flip the switch. My voltage readings for the switch are from RY to Blk is 12.3v; from RY to RW in a neutral position is 6.76v; from RY to RW in the rev position is 8.6v (moving to 10.8v); from RY to RW in the fwd position is 6.4v (moving to 8.7v). Are these correct? In both the rev and fwd position both voltages drop back to initial reading after a few seconds.

We would suggest isolating the wires that go to the sunroof motor and applying 12 volts and ground to verify that the motor is working properly. If it works in one direction, switch the wires to verify that it works in the other direction, fully closing and opening the sunroof. If the motor checks out okay, then the relay is your problem.

shouldn't i be able to do this by jumping across RW and RY? where is the relay located?

    Juts have two possibilities:
    Underhood Fuses (Power Distribution Center)
    * Power Distribution Center is located in the engine compartment; next to the battery. A label identifying the components and circuits is located on the underside of the cover.

    * Interior Fuses
The fuse access panel is behind the end cover at the left side of the instrument panel. To remove the panel, pull it out, as shown. A diagram identifying the components and circuits is located on the inside of the cover.

Other details about location will can find in the 2004 Dodge Neon - Owners Manual

    Hope helps.

Does a 2001 dodge neon have a fuel pump reset switch? And if so where is it located...

No ,it doesn't have a reset switch . Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? How to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test electrical circuits ? If not ,your best bet would be to have it towed to a repair shop.

Cruise control will not set on 2003 dodge grand caravan

Hello! I suspect a bad set switch...If you have a digital multimeter it can be tested...If you do not have a digital meter you can buy one for under $20 at most home improvement stores...Gentle pry the set switch out...It has two wires...Violet and Black/Violet...unplug the switch...take an ohm meter reading across the two terminals of the switch...When the set is pushed meter must read 5.49 K ohms...If not the switch is defective...Guru..saailer

On my 2003 Dodge neon sxt the cooling fan stays on all the time, even when engine is cold. What generally causes this ?

If you air conditioner is turned on, even when starting, the cooling fan will turn on. So make sure you turn the air conditioner off before you change the thermostat. But if it still comes on with the AC off, then I will agree with Carl diagnosis.

Dodge neon 1996.it has no spark.already le intal crank position sensor and cam sensor.and yet has no spark.that may be.

remove electrical plug from coil, with test light check tosee if u are getting power to the coil with the key on.(remove fuel relay during the testing) if there is power to coil then check resistence on coil. with plug still disconnected.take ohm meter and connect to the two outside plugs to check ohm resistance 0.45 - 0.65 ohms then use ohm meter to check secondary resistance.connect ohmmeter across the two secondary terminals of each coil. resistance 11.5-13.5 k-ohms. if all checks out test wires and plugs. hope this will help!!!

My sunroof will not close. I tested my fuses and they seem to be working, no broken ones and changed a few just in case.Tell me whats the next step or problem.2003 nissan murano owner.

Next step is to test the sunroof open/close switch itself, it might be faulty. Don't know the Murano, but often the switch-cover can be removed relatively easy. Test the switch (or better said: the wires fitted to it) with a volt-meter. You should have something like 4 wires; ground, + in, open (= + out), close (= + out).

When the fuse is not blown you should easily determine the + in wire (otherwise the fuse probably is blown), then set/hold the switch to open (or close) and see wether there is a + out voltage. If there is, it's probably the sunroof motor, something for the dealer to tackle ...

PS: Stupid question perhaps, but you're sure the sunroof is not in a "locked" state, some sunroofs have a manual (master-) lock ...

Sunroof will not close

If the motor is stuck, you can probably hold the switch to the forward position, and smack the roof. This may allow the motor to start working. I don't think there is any way to do it manually.
