Question about BMW 328

1 Answer

Hi I have a 1997 BMW 328i Convertible. Today, in 90+degree weather my front windwos stopped working. So did the main switch that controls all 4 windows. The rear windows go down just find using their switches. The back windows work just fine and when I go to put the convertible down and use the all windows down buttons, only the back windows go down. It's as if no electricty is going to the front windows. Is this a fuse or relay? Where is the fuse or relay box located. Dman3000 had a problem last year but I never saw the response. Thanks.

to check oil start vehicle in park and let idle, open large allen bolt [normally 17mm] on g/box sump, oil should spill from aperture. if not top up until it does. this must be done at a temperature of less than 30 degrees celsius as oil expands at higher temperatures.

1996 bmw 328i convertible top won't open

The top works with two circular motors in the trunk. The motors are similar to the ones that open and close the windows. The motors of the roof can be engaged and disengaged. One motor drives the roof lid the other one drives the roof itself. The trick to engage and disengage the motors so that they are correctly syncronized to opening and closing.
