You need to crawl under the truck and inspect each brake line for leaks. You also need to check wheel cylinders and calipers. The chances are pretty good that you will find a small leak in a line or a wheel cylinder leaking, pay close attention to the rear of the truck because that is normally where these problems occur. Hope this helps.

If you have brake fade that is if you hold the brake pedal down and it slowly goes down to the floor you probably need a master cylinder

You likely have a broken wiring harness at the brake light switch connector under the dash above the brake pedal. You can buy a replacement stub harness from Ford parts.

Sounds like there is a fault with the vacuum pump not generating enough vacuum for the brake booster assist, or a leaking vacuum hose. Try pinching off all the vacuum hoses to see if the problem goes away. Could also be a leak in the brake vacuum booster itself

2002 ford escort brake lights won't go out. I found a blue disc broken on the floor board but I have no idea where it came from.

More than likely that blue disc came from the brake light switch. You state that the brake lights will not go off. The solution is a relatively easy fix. Under the dash near steering column, attached to the brake rod (or above brake pedal) is the switch that controls the brake lights. It is usually held in place with a small connecting rod with a kotter pin or clip. Remove the pin or clip and slowly pull the switch out while (depending on design) slowly pulling the brake pedal rod the opposite direction. Be careful when removing the plug(s) on old switch. Replace the new switch in the opposite order in which you removed the old switch.

2001.5 Dodge Ram Diesel 2500 4x4 Brake Pedal drops to floor

It sounds like you have a bad mastercylinder cause when you panic brake it doesn't have time to bleed through the valve in the cylinder but under normal braking your foot is on pedal longer in turn giving the fluid time to bypass the valve in the mastercylinder in turn the pedal going to the floor.

1997 Ford F-350 7.3 L Diesel..........brake failure

With no leaks and a little braking action returning by pumping the pedal I would suggest looking into a master cylinder. Low brake fluid level in the master cylinder will cause the brake warning light to illuminate (possibly, also the ABS light).

If the truck has the 7.3L diesel, it will have a vacuum pump which supplies vacuum for all vacuum accessories. I believe if the vacuum level drops below 10 in. of Hg, the brake light will illuminate. If the vacuum pump fails you'll know it as the brake pedal will require quite a bit of effort to effect any braking effort.
