Converting 1991 S10 Steering Column to Painless 12 Circuit Wiring

I am converting a 1991 s10 steering column to a painless 12 circuit wiring system and need to know where the wires hook up. The wires have been cut on the steering column. Is there a diagram that would tell me where the wires go on the steering column?

Shifter light does match correct gear on 96 s10

Many GMC steering columns have a tiny wire or string that goes from a hook to the selector indicator.
The wire can stretch, as can the string.
Unfortunately, you may have to disassemble the steering column to fix this.
Knowing that, and how much work it is, I have chosen to ignore mine, which is the same as yours.

I got a 1991 s10 singel cab 2wd some one cut all the plugens off all the wires it had a 4cylender and im trying to put a 350 in i an i need to know what does each wire go to

If you are changing the engine the purpose of all those wires is a moot point. Most of them are for sensors and actuators that may or may not exist on the V8 and the 4 cylinder ECM will not run the V8. You need to find a wiring diagram, a multimeter and a jumper wire to make sure what wire is connected to what in the dash or you will be replacing all the wiring in the dash along with the printed circuit on the back of the instrument cluster.

I have a chevy s10 pick up and i noticed my hazzard button was shorting out even cutting out the turn signals then i started smelling burning wireing then lost all power as well as cut the engine the...

You will have to have some re-wiring done. There's still a bad short in there. Is it all in the steering column where the burning happened? Sounds like it also affected the ignition switch wiring. You will have to strip down the steering column and get to all the wires that were affected. You might find some wire harnesses from a donor truck that will help you. Be sure and change out the hazard switch, too, and check the turn switch and ignition switch-they may also need replacing. I'm inclined to say just change out the whole column if you can find one with all the wiring on it. But get a second opinion, first, from someone there to see the extent of your problem.

How to hook up horn to a button for 1990 Chevy pickup.

First of all, there is no wire that runs from the horn to the steering column (if the horn circuits had been properly diagnosed you would know this). I would recommend diagnosing and repairing the horn circuit the correct way rather than butchering your wiring harnesses and adding more problems to the electrical problems that you are already experiencing.

If you would like help with diagnosing and repairing your truck's horn circuit, I would be happy to help you do that.

How can i bypass

You've got a tough one here...can you crawl under the dash of your Buick? Do you know how to use a multimeter?
If you answered "yes" to BOTH these questions you're 75% of the way there!
#1. remove the lower "shelf" part of the dash directly under the steering wheel. Locate the TWO Orange wires coming from the steering column. Using a multimeter, place the pos/neg probes on either side of the tiny metal chip on your ignition the value. go to Radio shack and buy that value of resistor and pick up wire "crimp" connectors for 12-14ga wiring. Cut the Orange wires and bare 1/2" of each end. Crimp the resistor between Orange wires using the crimp connectors.
Good Luck

Car wont start when i turn the key

The first thing you need to check is whether the key has a pellet in it or "chip". If it does...the problem is most likely your key lock cylinder. Go buy a new key lock cylinder....KEEP YOUR OLD KEY. Take your new lock cylinder down to any Chevrolet dealer to find out what the VATS number is for your key....then have the dealer cut you a new key with that same VATS number...then go to your vehicle and remove the negative battery cable...this does two things...1. It resets the computer after a five minute period of no power...2.. allows you to work on the steering column without power on it.

Remove the steering wheel with the aid of repair manual.

Put the new key lock cylinder with the wire running down the steering column. Then put the steering column back together....Hook up the negative battery cable, then use your new key that was CUT and your car should start

Converted my bmw e30 325i form auot to manuel

You need to jump the neutral safety switch there was a plug you disconnected in front of the shifter it has either 4 or 6 pins, take the plug you pulled out cut it off of the old gear selector and plug it back in and strip the wires back, the wires are color coded so like colors usually go together. with a 12 volt test light ground the clip to a proper ground, turn the key to the start position hold on start and check for voltage at the wires you previously stripped, let go of key and voltage should stop if voltage is constant you may be on the reverse light circuit, keep looking for voltage that goes on only when key turned to start, when you find it look for the corresponding color ie green /white to green/ black etc, wire the 2 together and starter should crank over, if not try another one. you will also need to wire the reverse light switch from the new trans to this connector. stay away from brown wires as they are grounds on bmw and never hook anything but brown to brown unless you are 100 percent certain it hooks up that way
