First thing to check is to ensure there is freon gas, which normally will stop the compressor located near the belt from rotating if ever it is low on gas or has detected any other problem.Hope this helps.Any question please feel free to ask and I will get back to you in due course.Good luck.

Hi this sounds like you need your a/c re-gassed , the a/c pumps are now fitted with a switch off system where if it gets low on freon it will stop the pump from working as it will overheat the pump as it has not enough coolant to pump around hence the automatic switch off when it is running..so all you need to do is get it re-gassed hope this helps

hi, ok well if freon is good, is it up to pressure this is another thing you will have to get tested, it should be on the high pressure side 200 to 240 psi, and 30 to 35 psi, you might have to find out exactly what the pressures are for your system as they could be different as they change with numerous things like engine size etc, this will also give you the same thing..thats something you can get checked out, hope that helps..cheers

Where is the engine number located on a ford mustang engine 6cyl 2001?

For 2001 Ford Mustang 3.8L SFI 6cyl engine, with which your specific vehicle is equipped, can be most easily identified by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), located on either the VIN tag, mounted in the upper left-hand corner of the instrument panel, or on the vehicle certification label, located on the driver-s side door pillar. The engine identifying code is the 8th digit of the VIN. The engine VIN codes are as follows:

My 2001 Sebring blows hot air except when I turn the control knob to defrost, then it blows cold air and the condenser fan kicks on . Chrysler has already replaced the evaporator core and that did not fix...

If the ac is turned on and it comes threw the defrost, then it is not the cooling fans, but check them to see that they are coming on,and they are turning fast, the control head is more likely the problem.

Low on freon,or the expansion valve is bad,try adding freon to the system,if the compressor stops cycling, then that is the problem,if this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

HEAT BLOWS COLD AIR WHEN IDLING ONLY GETS HOT WHEN START DRIVING

You have still got air in the system.Remove the Feed back pipe from the header tank and wait for all the air to come out while the engine is running making sure you are toping up the header tank at the same time Dont allow header tank to run dry while doing this.Good luck

2001 town & country limited blows cold air intermittenly. happens with both front and rear. Changed thermostat, radiator cap, both needed anyway. Temp gages are fine. hoses in and out of heater core...

If the hoses to the rad is hot the chances are there is an air lock in the heating core. The best place to bleed the air out is at the top. If there is no provision for bleeding air you will have to slacken the hose and manipulate it to allow water/air out.
Make sure for safety's sake the engine is cold to prevent scalding yourself. Have an assistant topping up the engine rad while you are working on the bleeding operation

2001 pt cruiser no heat

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.
