Question about 2003 Saturn VUE
The VUE wouldn't start so we got a jump. The engine died. We got another jump and made it to Discount Auto to have them check the battery. They replaced it and it started right up. Then it died. everytime we started it, it would die unless we had our foot on the gas. Anytime in idle, the engine would die. They checked alternator, first said it was bad and then said it was good. No check engine light.
Most likely you have a voltage regulator on the alternator going bad. That is why one test was bad then one test was good. The voltage regulator is most likely integrated into the alternator. Replace the Alternator and that should resolve the problems.
