Hi Friend:

#1) First determine where the Leak is Located Use a Leak detector from your Local Parts Store.

#2) The Leak could be a A/C High or Low Presure Line.or could be a Rubber O-Ring Mainly Where your Lines are Conected to the A/C Compressor.

#3) Anytime a A/C System Has a Leak ,Fix the Leak 1st then you Need to Evacute the System By using a Vacum Tool.

#4) You probely don't have this-Almost any Repair Shop has the Right Equiptment.

#5) Assuming th Leak has been found and Repaired and the System Vacumed Down.

#6) To Recharge your System if your doing this. You'll need to buy R-34 Make Sure it Has a Gauge on it.Also Your A/C System wil need to Have The Refrigent Rechare NOTE: also it will need Oil put ack into the System.

#7) You Can buy the R-34 With the Oil in the Same Rechagre Can=With Gauge.

#8) Locate your Low Side Line Look at the Lines Coming from the Firewall and Trace the Lines and You Will see a Plastic Cap With a (L) on it This is your Low Sideor (suction side)

#9) Remove the Cap you'll see what looks like a Valve Core to Air your Tires up.

#10 Start your Enging Turn your A/C on High or Maximum Cool and the Fan on High. The R-34 has a Quick Connect on the Hose ,JUst pull it back nwhile Putting it on your Low Side Recharge Valve.Be Sure you Shake the Can before connecting it.

#11) After Connected Turn Can Upside Down Shaking it as The System is Recharging.

#12) Watch the Gauge on the R-34 Don't Over fill it,Stay with in The Green on the Gauge.

#13) Remove connector from the Coolant Line and You Should Have Cold Air Providing everything else on your A/C System is Working Properly>

Please let me know how my Solution Helped you by Voting for me and a Short Testamony.

Thank You for Using FIXY From d_hubbs

AC LEAKS CAN BE HARD TO FIND.YOU NEED TAKE IT TO GARAGE THAT DO AIR CONDITIONER WORK.THEY HAVE TO CHARGE AC SYSTEM UP PUTTING DYE IN SYSTEM.THEN USING A SPECIAL LIGHT WHICH CAUSE DYE TO GLOW WHERE THE AC LEAKS ARE THEN THEY CAN FIX LEAKING SEALS OR O-RINGS WHERE AC REFRIGERANT LEAKING OUT AT.

I USED THE DYE AND LIGHT SYSTEM TO SPOT LEAKS.YOU CAN USE THE BUBBLE DETECTOR METHOD USING SOAP AND WATER.WHERE YOU SEE BUBBLES THATS A LEAK. CHECK ALL THE LINE CONNECTION JUST TIGHTEN THEM UP THIS METHOD.BE A LOT CHEAPER THAN BUYING A HALIDE PROPANE TORCH LEAK DETECTOR OR A HALOGEN ELECTRIC LEAK TESTERS.

2001 Chevy Venture - My heat is not as hot as usual and blows cool when idle. Coolant level is fine. Temp Gauge isn't working.

Sounds like you need to have the cooling system flushed out then have them put a new themostat in it. If that dont fix the prob you might have to put a new heater core in it or radiator.

THESE VAN ARE KNOW FOR INTAKE GASKETS LEAKING INTERNALLY,CAUSING A MIS-FIRE. LOOK UNDER THROTTLE BODY AREA FOR COOLANT LAYING IN THE GULLY IF YOU SEE ANYTHING REPLACE INTAKE GASKETS FIRST. IF NOTHING IS LEAKING SPRAY SOME SOAPY WATER ON THE SPARK PLUG WIRES WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND CHECK FOR ARCHING, IF ARCHING IS FOUND REPLACE THE PLUGS AND WIRES.

On the chevy venture there is a know problem with the lower intake gaskets leaking and it causes a air leak in the system. this will cause a problem with your thermostat and cooling. also heating problems.
The best bet is to look at the lower corners of the intake to see if you see coolant leaking if not it is possible the leak may be internal is your oil milky color?.

How do i recharge my a.c. My air conditioner blows out warm air. why and how do i fix it?

if the system is low on charge u must repair the leak before you waste the $25 on refridgerant, most likely the AC compressor is leaking and will need to be replaced, charging the AC after replaceing a compressor requires special equipment, so find a good shop.

1997 venture leaking coolant, can,t tell where it is leaking, sems to be on the back of engine somewhere.

You may be lucky and it just the hose clamp that needs to be replaced at your heater core on the firewall. Might as well replace the heater hose if it is the clamp that has failed. There are two hoses from the firewall behind the engine, the other places that coolant would leak from are the frost plugs and at worst the intake gasket failed. Keep me posted and have my fingers crossed it's just a simple fix like a leak from the heater hose. Good luck

No Heat

check your coolant level...if its too low then it will not flow through the heater core correctly to generate the heat.

sounds like a freeze plug, when the motor is warm the metal expands and its seals itself, when it cools over night it leaks..
