I can not get the driver side window to go up. It

I can not get the driver side window to go up. It was squeaking for about a week and was difficult to get it down now it will not go back up at all. We have taken the door panel off and the motor is running. Not sure what else the problem could be but now my window is broken all together. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I changed front brake pads on my 99 malibu. after six weeks, the driver side started grinding. Took wheel off and found the outer pad worn completely through, inner showed almost no wear at all. ...

The metal squeak tabs go on the bottom when u install them !!! Just make sure when u r putting brake pads on, look at them before u put em in and make sure the tabs are on the bottom and not the top. That will cause them to wear down a lot faster !!!

Please help....I replaced the front brake pads on my 07 Saturn Aura because there was a squeaking sound. I took the old pads off and there was plenty of meat left and the rotors look very good. I didnt...

check the dust shield that is behind the rotor. It should be attached to the steering knuckle. if it is bent and touching the rotor it will squeak. I would jack the passenger side of the car up and remove the wheel. Once you have done that try to spin the rotor. Try to get it to squeak. It may also be dirt on your brake pads. If it came back after a week it is most likely dirt. Try a couple cans of Braklean while you have it apart.

Squeak

how about brake calipers?

squeaky noise is common from brake pads going against the brake disc.

This is caused by lose calipers or stiff calipers unable to fully open up. This makes the brake pads very close to the brake disc.

When you are travelling at a certain speed, tension on the wheels may cause it to incline inwards or outwards at a very small degree but that is enough to get the brake pad to rub against the disc causing the squeak.

Another possiblity is the brake disc rubbing against the disc guard. Usually metal and behind the disc. You said you had a collision, this may have distorted the disc guard causing some parts to touch the brake disc.

Squeak in front end

Okay....I have been working on my boss' car for a week with this SAME issue....first....try to figure out the spot it is coming from. This part is the pain. Second, have a can of WD-40 and spray it into any joint you find. This squeek could be from an upper bushing, a lower bushing, an A arm bushing, or any other bushing on that side....so start out with this method first because it will only cost you a few dollars, or free if you have it already. But do one at a time till you find it. Then, you'll know what item to replace.
