Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab

1 Answer

I have a 1999 Ford F150 that was involved in a front end collision. Everything has been repaired but the A/C will not charge. I don't see the compressor ever engaging. There is no refergerent in the lines and I pulled a vacuum to 28 inches. Installed a can of oil/refergerent and the system will not take it. What am I missing?

Hi, do u have power to the low pressure AC compressor cycling switch with the AC turned on? this switch is located near the firewall on the low pressure side of the system the low pressure is the side you charge on, thie usual location is the accumulator, below I will post pictures of the accumulator ande the low pressure switch. I suspect you have some kind of collision damge to the system and if this is covered under insurance have it repaired that way.

Vibrating from the front end of my f150

Check you wheel bearings. Raise the vehicle and support safely. Grab hold of the tire top and bottom and check for play. Do this side to side and diagonally also. While you are at it it wouldnt be a bad idea to check the rest of your suspension.

Minor front end collision repaired, now taillights don't work, bulbs replaced

the parking lights in the back are not working? i would check for a pinched wire or bare wire on the front lights, did they replace the bulbs when they did the repairs? the front and rear parking lights are on the same fuse.

Speedometer Quit working on 2004 f250 after the front end was repaired for collision damage

It is for sure that the front collision has done the damage to all the sections mentioned and it was important that before you took delivery of the car a proper trial test run was important. It will be best to get this back and have it checked to rectify the above faults.possible cable , sensor, gear could be damged and might need replacement.

Front end grinding noise in Ford f150. It isn't

You may have wheel bearing issues or if you have a 4x4 the u-joints on the front axle may be needing some attention. I would start by inspecting both for signs of wear and replace them if necessary. This is pretty straight forward mechanical work but get a repair book for your specific truck and read up on both procedures before starting. I use Chilton for my vehicles and it seems to be one of the best with to the point information.
Good luck.

2003 cavalier was in a front end collision. I don't know were the switch is to turn the fuel back on.

Chevrolet vehicles don't have an inertia switch, the only American manufacturer to use these is Ford.

Front wheel alignment

you need to let an alignment shop handle it. The vehicle has to be perfectly level front to rear and side to side, if this is not correct the alignment will not be accurate.
