Question about 2007 Chevrolet Uplander LS Minivan
Assuming it's not a chemical smell, it sounds like a mouse crawled up in your heater and die or made a nest and the young died or you had a slight leak and it's molding. The reason you wouldn't smell it with the heat off is the duct is closed off completely when the heat is off. Unfortunately the only way I know to fix this is to pull the heater core and duct work and clean it out. If you do it yourself is quite a job. If you have a shop do it, it will be expensive.
