Hello David. You have more than one problem here, at least three. Begin with the stalling. Since it starts up but won't run begin by replacing the fuel filter. If that doesn't solve it, you may have a bad fuel pump. Regarding the inoperative gauges, this is usually a fuse or a ground issue. Check your fuses first.

Finally with the power window, also check the fuse. If the fuse is good the power window motor is probably bad and needs to be replaced. I recommend purchasing the power window motor assembly which includes the motor and the track. THis is a few dollars more than just the motor but well worth it labor wise. J.

If thats the case you can look underneath the dash or on the box underneath the hood besides the fender. Theres a legend there that tells which is which. Regarding the power windows, the lock button of the windows may be depressed causing the other windows not to work. Try depressing the unlock button of the power window and see how it goes. If no luck, the unlock button may be corroded causing the windows not to function.

do not know the fuse to ckeck
were in box is the dash gages fuse

  • davidt1759 Jul 10, 2010

Oh, alrigt please try this. Spray some wd40 on the window channel where the windows pass... When the window channel is kinda old the window sticks and makes it hard to lift. This can loosen them up.

I have a 09 Ford Focus 2.0 it starts fine but after 3 sec it stalls and dies,I have checked the fuel pump, coils, crank sensor. Do you have any ideas

Hook up a fuel pressure gage to the fuel pressure test port on the engine (rent or borrow, make sure you get the right test gage), see if the fuel pressure shuts off when the engine starts to stall. Also do an OBD2 fault code test on the engine control module, it requires a code reader or if you have a nearby Autozone they will read the codes for free.

Which Relay/Fuse controls the power windows?

Did you check for battery voltage at the switch , with a volt meter before you replaced the main driver door switch ? Maybe you'll want to take this to pro ,instead of just replacing parts !

Why does 2005 Kia Sorento die while driving

You need to run an engine control module scan for fault codes Known as an OBD2 fault code test.. Autozone and others do this for free. If no fault show then hook up a test fuel gage the next time it stalls and see if maybe the fuel pump is failing.

Rear side windows

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.
The driver power window regulator motor is a reversible motor that is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The passenger power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the passenger power window switch and can also be controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch.
The passenger power window regulator motor is a reversible motor, which is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The power rear quarter glass is also directly controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. The power rear quarter glass power latches also utilize reversible motors. The power rear quarter glass power latches are operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to open the window, and then reversing polarity on those same leads to close the window.

1987 4.3L starting difficulty

First off, I'm a great believer in the simple solution. If jumping the relay works, then replace the relay.

As far as a relationship between fuel pump operation and oil pressure, coincidence of operation.

If the new relay fails you, I'll need some more info:
  • Fuel Injected? If you turn the key on (not to start) do you hear the fuel pump come on for a sec then shut off?
  • Hard to start when hot, cold, doesn't matter
  • When it does start, does it idle ok? erratically? High? Won't stay running? Dies immediately?
  • Does it blow smoke? Black? Blue? White?
  • When driving, does it lack power? Stumble? Stall?
Hope it's the relay
