The first thing to do is have the computer scanned for codes, theres a problem maybe a speed sensor but scanning will help in finding the problem,

I just had this happen to my 96 960 i pulled out the 2nd fuse in main box from the left to try and rest the system. The arrow turned off, and the winter/wet light and eco light quit flashing. And drove fine.

What is wrong when the "transaction active" light comes on, on the dash board

Transaction? I never seen that. When do you see this come on?
Does it go off or stays on all the time?
I can only think of 2 things:
Traction as in traction control unit goes active meaning it wont slide the rear end under power on rain or snow etc...
Or I have seen an option for towing a trailer where there is a button usually at the end of the shifter lever.
Both of them are ok to have a lite on, if you were to have a problem with transmission you would have the check engine light on and maybe the transmission switch light blinking.
Check you owners manual for a reference of this light.

ON THE 2008 FORD ESCAPE, WHEN THE ROADS ARE COVERED IN SNOW AND ICY, SHOULD THE TRACTION BUTTON BE PUSHED IN SO THAT THE DASH LIGHTS UP WITH "TRACTION". THIS BUTTON IS ALWAYS OFF, WHEN SHOULD IT...

This button turns the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) function on and off. When the "TRACTION" light is on, the AWD function is on -- AWD should be on in snow / ice.

My rx300 has been repaired and the track_off light and the vsc light stays on do i need to take it back to the mechanic

If there is not a button on the dash that you can push to turn the traction control and vsc back on then you will have to take it back to your mechanic to find out why those lights are still on.

What is the T/C button for in the glove box of a 2003 CTS cadillac?

This button is for the traction control, when you push it it will say trac off or trac on . this will be displayed on the dash, this is for better traction on snow or wet roads and it keeps the wheels from spinning out, hope this helps, look in your manual under traction control, good luck.

HOLD light is on

On your shifter there should be a button marked hold, it probably inadvertently was pushed. It is a type of traction control device for use in bad road conditions, it makes you transmission shift differently to avoid jerking and breaking traction, and I believe it also locks out the overdrive. You should be able to just push the button and disable the function.
