Question about 2001 Nissan Maxima
You need to have both the high and low sides checked before we begin. Compressors can fail and passages can become plugged. About the only thing you can do is look at the compressor to see if the clutch engaged when turned on. If it doesnt then most likely the AC relay or PCM is the problem if its an electrical problem. Or you have low pressure, or a AC pressure sensor is defective.
A quick check with a bidirectional data scanner can check to see if the PCM has the ability to turn the AC on. If it will turn on with a scanner then the pressures or sensors are most likley the problem.
