Hi,

Thanks for posting this question. Ideally you should have either included all the information in the last post or you should have used a follow up button.

Regarding P1231, i have already posted the information.

Regarding P1251, the details are :-

1251 refers to the small motor that controls the throttle.P1251
Throttle Motor. Full PWM in Closing Direction.

NOTE: May set if Mechanism is not Restarted.

Fault symptoms

* CHECK ENGINE.
* Incorrect idle speed.
* Cruise control inoperative.

On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:

* Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.

Enable criteria:

* Test 1: Engine running. Car in motion.
* Test 2: Engine running for less than 5 S.

Fault criteria:

* Test 1 and Test 2: Throttle motor receiving 100% PWM in closing direction.

Dependents:

* None.

System reaction to a fault:

* Throttle control goes into limp-home mode. The limp-home solenoid will be activated 5 times in succession each time the ignition is turned on until the fault has been rectified and the trouble codes cleared.

OK report:

* Accelerator pedal has been depressed at some time and then fully released. 120 S has expired since then without fault criteria being fulfilled.

Fault handling: See "Fault diagnosis, general" for more information.

* CHECK ENGINE goes on immediately and can be turned off only by clearing the trouble codes.

Diagnostic help
A mechanical fault is preventing the throttle from closing.

Check the wiring
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuit in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Both codes could cause the above mentioned problem.So,i would not be able to comment as i cannot diagnose your car.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

    The below site might help you :-

    http://www.diydiagnostics.com/

    Regarding side panel, did you check the junkyard. Usually, you could consider to have a look at the nearest junkyard as it could offer you something used at nice price.

    If you wish to buy it, let me know your country and i would be glad to search that for you.

still could have a fault in crank sensor wiring ,,, you need to plug in diagnostic tool when it wont start and see if you have a engine revs reading ,,, also check if fuel is getting to the engine ,,,, that car also has immobiliser so try spare key to see if problem goes away ,,,,,, wont get codes on that age group unless problem happens when driveing

2012 toyota landcruiser fault code p1251

Being a 2012 I'd hope it's still under warranty. P1251 is throttle body issues. Could be dirty, faulty, bad PCM or a reflash needed

I have a 2001 Saab 93 with a trouble code of P1251. Any idea of what that means?

Hello! The problem is that the Electronic Throttle Motor (ETM) is in limp mode...Most common fault is that the mechanism is fouled with carbon...But first check connector for loose or broken wires...It has a 10 pin connector...Remove and clean motor and throttle body using throttle body cleaner...See attached drawing...It is a procedure to take the motor out of limp mode...
