The pins are driven out since they are driven is. Have the door supported on some sort of lifting device securely since it will become wobbly upon removal. Do one hinge at a time. The upper one gets the most wear

99 Chevy Silverado door pins how to change hinges

If the hinges are bolted they can be released from the bodywork and door by removing the bolts although on many models accessing the bolts can be a very difficult task.

In the case of welded hinges the door must be removed by removing the hinge pins. There is then a lot of careful grinding and cutting to remove the hinge parts from the door and the bodywork and new hinges welded into place.

In the case of a car regularly maintained, including oiling the hinges, removing the hinge pins with a dedicated service tool is relatively easy but can be extremely difficult without the service tool. Cars that have not received a high level of maintenance throughout it's life hinge pins can be extremely difficult to remove needing the application of heat, lots of hammering and repainting afterwards.

Adjust door gap 83 k-10 chevy

GM has a known issue with worn door hinge pins around that year. With the door open, try to lift the door. If there is movement, the hinge pins and bushings need to be replaced. Your local GM dealer should have the parts pretty reasonable.

My door is sagging on my 1999 Chevy Blazer and won't seal properly. It looks like there is a spring missing on the top hinge. Is this correct and how do I fix it?

Most cases can be resolved by replacing the pin and bushings in the hinge. These can be purchased at most Auto Parts stores on Do-It-Yourself aisle/rack. Some cases require replacement of complete hinge assembly.

When opening and shuting the door , the hinge makes a popping noise

You may have some worn door pin bushings, or the door hinge has excessive wear. I'm not sure if your vehicle has door pin bushings, if it does, they can usually be replaced.

How hard is it to replace the door hinges on a Chevy S10 P/U? Hinge pin kits WON'T HELP. The hinges are WORN OUT. I am an advanced DIYer. Can I do it myself, or must I take it to a shop? Any help will be...

its not bad to do it yourself. but it will take 2 people to do it. have your helper open the door and lightly lift it up so the pin is free then slide the pin up and out and then the door can move off the hinge so you can get the old brass sleeve out and replace it with the new one and slide the door back on and replace the pin. i would only do one hinge at a time and do the bottom one first.

have you ajusted the door catch pin to the corect position and does the door line up you might have to ajust the hinges to level the door properly

check the door lines make sure it hits the pin in the right spot if not grab the pin and loosen it with a pair of vise grips and ajust up down or in and out if required

if it is the hinges loosen the botom and top and slide th hinges eithor way remember to ajust 1 hinge at a time onlt loosen 1 hinge at a time if door needs to go up loosen the botom hinge slightly and pull up on back of door when it's almost closed then open door and tighten botom hinge
if too high try loosening it then push down on the back of door
