The crank sensor is a magnetic part so replace it. Magnets wear out from heat from the engine

I have a 1995 Crown Vic that starts and run for ten mins and it stops and want start again for 12 to 24 hrs

Try disconnecting the crank shaft position sensor , cleaning connector and reconnecting. May need to replace crank position sensor, but try cleaning connector with electronic cleaner first.

Switching off intermittently whilst driving over road ramps or halting at both traffic light and stop street.

If you get a code, that will likely tell you what to replace. Crank position sensor is one likely cause. Cam position sensor is another.

These sensors do go bad.

Why doesn't it crank?

some MAF sensor are sensitive, some throttle bodies are never to be operated manually what is the year make and model of yours, is or was there any trouble codes . when you say car wont crank, do you mean {it wont start} or do you mean {engine does not turn} when trying key.

I have a 2001 chevy blazer that shows MAS issues back fires in throttle body

the mass airflow sensor needs replaced, can't be cleaned, when its bad thats it. second, tried to replace crankshaft sensor ? did you ? if you did , it must be adjusted so its perfectly flush, parralell with crank, it reads magnetic strips that send info to computer, works together with camshaft sensor, cam & crank must be in time with each other, timing is everything, cause you don't have a distributor. reinspect your crank sensor to make sure its mounted correctly. replace your MAS, with exact replacement, not aftermarket, see how this works, I'll be around to help you

1994 Buick Century Not Turning Over

Can position sensor, maybe, or it might be called a pick-up coil. This sensor is needed along with crank position sensor for computer to determine spark timing.
When you get it started, and if you still have the up and down idle, check for an intake manifold leak.

I changed the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor and it still wont crank right away, but thats what the code read needed to be replaced

Hello. What I have experienced with the Cam and Crank sensor issues on the 2.5 engines are if you replace the Cam and Crank sensor with sensors from your local auto parts store, you will still have issues. I have found that after market sensors never work right and can have you replacing more parts than you actually need. I would suggest replacing the two sensors with sensors from the dealer to resolve your problem. Also when changing the sensors make sure you use brake clean to clean out the electrical connector. I have also seen where oil seeps through the sensors and drowns the electrical connection which can also keep the problem from continuing also.

If you have any more questions on this, please feel free to ask. Thanks Jay!

Hi again I have the same problem with my 97 grand cherokee larado. It just keeps dying while driving and then spmetimes it back fires before dying I have replaced exhaust o2 semsor crank regulator sensor...

I had a similar problem with a 1992 BMW 3 Series, it would idle funny, backfire, and then die. The problem turned out to be with the mass air flow sensor, it just need to be cleaned (I used break clean). Eventually I replaced the sensor, but cleaning one or twice a month seemed to do the trick.

Had to take timing belt off ,need to reset

is it a clean crank or a lazy slow crank ?
if clean crank check to see if you get a spark or pulse at the injector
slow and lazy crank
double check the timing again
or check to see if you broke or left the crank angle sensor unplug

Miss fires when it's cold and when it get's hot. seems to be after the crank sensor was changed. I changed the coil, distributer, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump, fuel filtre, checked the grounds, had it on the...

Your right to replace the sensor again. It's like a bulb, some bulbs working 20 years, some only 3 minutes. Make sure to install the new one in the right way and that is no mud, old oil or so on the rotor that supports the sensor. Keep all parts clean. if that doesn't solf the problem, please come back again.
