The headlamp is a semi-sealed beam type which uses a replacable
halogen bulb. The bulb can be replaced from the engine compartment
side without removing the headlamp body.

SOURCE: Nissan Terrano Chugging
When you are going up a hill, the engine is under an incresed load - requiring more fuel and spark, so I'd first check all of the ignition related items (Plugs/wires/cap/rotor), and it isn't a bad idea to replace the fuel and air filters if you haven't in a while. Once those are checked, it is very very common for a TPS (Throttle Position switch) to develop "dead spots"; where under accelleration they cause a "chugging", which sometimes is quite unnoticable - unless/until vehicle is under a load ( eg. driving up a hill). A new TPS can be installed and set with a multi-meter - probes attached to the proper terminals, and have the output voltage set at .47V to .50 V at idle (Closed throttle). I'd bet this is the cause, as they usually do not set a DTC (Code - Service Engine light) . It isn't 100% for sure, an air flow meter and/or other things can cause this type thing as well (also a weak spark or coil, etc), but highly unlikely - other malfunctioning parts often set trouble codes as well, and usually either malfunction or they don't. Hope this helps and if you find anything else - please let me know.
