Question about 1990 Porsche 928

Sunroofs have to slide in a channel and if anything gets stuck in there, even felt, it can cease to function.
Is your sunroof powered or manual?
If it is powered, I would look for a fuse first. Then, if the fuse is alright and a test light says that you are getting power at the motor, then it's a bad motor or it's getting 'stuck' in the channel.
Look above and below it as the button operates the powered sunroof, if so equipped in your 928s4 Porsche.
