Give a dealer a quick call to confirm (service Mgr.) but as I recall it was turn headlight switch all the way one way and feel it click. I'll dig a little in my manuals and see if I can find it. I'd also try a test light at wires coming out of switch and see if I get power from one when turned as I describe and lose power when not in that position. It may come down to removing headliner and tracing back, or installing a new power wire to a separate toggle switch , or replacing light switch. I'll see tonight if I can find a diagram, or confirm some how 100%.

I have a 1989 f250 xlt lariat with a 460 in it and my brake lights arent working

Sounds as if you brake light switch is not working or adjusted properly, check for voltage to the switch then depress the brake pedal and make sure you have voltage on the outward side of the switch if ok check the bulbs at the taillight assembly

Not a regular cab but Lariat F-150 Supercrew 2003 , the inside and the cargo lights stay on when the truck is shut down ,and now I notice the auto locking doors are not working when you touch the brake...

Is the door ajar light in the cluster illuminated ?

Could be the door ajar switch ( part of the door latch ) is gummed up, and needs to be WD-40 sprayed into it, and close open the doors a few times, and repeat.

The autolock uses the same input, to know to lock the doors when you press the brake pedal while moving.

Center Brake Light not working along with rear right cargo light.

Check the fuses. Sometimes even a fuse that looks ok has a hairline crack so pull the fuse that controls these items and install a new working fuse.

If that doesnt solve the problem find where the ground wire is bolted to the frame. Usually under the rear of the vehicle. Unbolt or unscrew, shine everything up with a steel wire brush and reassemble.
