Generally when a abs light and the brake lights come on its related to a intermittant wheel sensor issue or the ABS module. Only by following the manufactures procedures for the code stored will anyone get to the source of the problem.

Abs light stays on and brake light on 98 durango

The regular brake warning light is for the parking brake being applied or the brake fluid is low. You would need to get the abs system scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

I have a 1997 Ford F-150 whose parking brake emergency light sometimes turns on, but not often. It seems the problem is a sticky switch. What do you think and where is the switch? Thanks.

Hi!!

Check your brake fluid level and the condition of your brake pads/shoes.

The ABS and/or Brake Light some times come on when the fluid level is low.

If you still want to check the switch, it is located on the upper part of the brake pedal

I have a 2001 gmc sierra and the emergency brake will not engage. I can push the pedal to the floor and it will lock in place and the light will flash but I still can drive it with know problem. Another...

The usual problem with the park brake is the design of the rotor. The park brake is on the inside of the rotor. The drum area rusts inward onto the park brake shoe, wearing it out. Thus the pedal goes to the floor. I f you really need the park brake you will have to replace the rotors and the park brake shoes.

As far as the brake light goes, have the abs system checked for codes. You may have a wheel speed sensor issue. Have you had your recall done for the rust under the sensor issue?

Abs and park brake lights come on together

There is an ABS sensor on each wheel. Check each one and make sure they are plugged in first. If they all are plugged in, then you may need to replace one or more of them. You can usually see if they are bad. Hope this helps.

This car has regular shoes on the back not disc. Replace shoes and adjust cable. No parking brake is a sign of worn out shoes. Regals have rear disc on them for this year.

Parking brake is stuck on

need to get the truck on jack stands remove the wheels and if the truck has drums you maybe able to use some PB blast because the brake cables are rusted for the emergency brakes and at the same time you can check out the condition of your shoes or pads if you get any oil on the shoes or pads use brake cleaner to clean them off

check parking brake cables?? but you probably need some rear brake work.. when you backed up the self adjuster moved inside the drum..
computer might be limiting your motion until you get the brake light off??? or just the drag of the shoes holding you back.??
