I would start by putting 5 quarts in, then topping off gradually until the dipstick reads full.

Go to amsoil.com and look up your vehicle. They have a great page that shows fluid capacities for many vehicles. Its some awesome oil too. Puts Mobil 1 to shame.

The only engine available in a 98 Lincoln is the 4.6L 281 cid fuel injected V8 with dual overhead cams.

This engines oil capacity is 6 quarts.

Ford Motor Company recommends SAE 5W-20 Motorcraft oil.

How much motor oil do i need for my ford f350 how many gal

if it is a gas engine it should use 5 quarts, unless it has a heavy duty oil cooling system, then it may need up to seven quarts. Fill the motor with the first five quarts, the check the oil level with the oil dipstick. If its still low add one half of a quart at a time while checking level each time you add a half quar untill it show full on the oil dipstick..
